BiometricsBiometric Systems from HRS What is Biometrics? Biometrics is the process of measuring and analysing the human behaviour and the characteristics of features such as the hands, eyes and face. What is Biometrics used for? The primary usage of Biometrics is for the purpose of identification and authentication. Types of Biometrics Biometric characteristics can be divided in three main categories, Physiological, Behavioural and Cognitive Biometrics. At HRS, we are primarily concerned with Physiological Biometrics. This refers to the analysing of body and characteristics. Examples of this are hand recogntion, finger recognition, vein recognition, face recognition and iris recognition. Advantages of Biometric systems In many cases, Biometric systems can be used as an efficient, un-obtrusive way of identifying and authenticating individuals. Biometrics has a distinct advantage over other means of security, such as passwords and access tokens, in that it reduces the risk of data being lost or compromised. In the future, the adoption of Biometrics on a mass scale could offer lasting protection against problems such as identity theft. Why Choose HRS Biometric systems? With extensive experience of developing and delivering Biometric solutions across a broad range of sectors, HRS are recognised by leading industry experts as market leaders in the field of Biometrics. We have an in-house team of developers and engineers who allow us to seamlessly integrate Biometric hardware and software into other applications to create bespoke Biometric systems which meet with the specific requirements of our clients.
