HRS strengthens Pansonic PartnershipHRS becomes the largest supplier of Iris (biometric) technology solutions in the UK June 6th, 2009  HRS has been working with Panasonic for over seven years, developing innovate solutions which use Panasonic's iris camera technology. The success of these projects means that HRS has now deployed more iris technology than any other company in the UK.
Paul Meehan, from Panasonic said: "HRS' ability to innovate and implement solutions based upon Iris biometric systems, has resulted in rapid growth in sales of the Panasonic Iris camera. I see the partnership with HRS as being central to the development of the Iris biometric market across Europe - the experience of HRS to deliver will further support the EU sales channel."
Iris Recognition is one of the most robust and secure biometric technologies available on the market today, providing unparalleled accuracy that can operate within large scale applications supporting databases containing the records of millions of people.
This technology has already been deployed in a number of HRS' solutions, including a Department of Health project to control methadone dispensing in over 100 prisons and 'MSecurePod' - an access control system for all staff working airside at Manchester Airport.
Recently HRS has also been instrumental in introducing mobile iris platform-based identity solutions across the defense and energy sectors.
HRS continues to explore new solutions using this technology and its team of biometric engineers is currently working on developing a range of commercially robust applications using iris technology capable of capturing data from a distance. This brand new solution will be able to capture iris images even when people are moving and not looking directly into a camera.
